This session will take a look at new realities that Smart Cities and the coming re-electrification movement will bring to our world as we transition to EVs. I’ll show how Oracle technology – including Machine Learning, Analytics, and APEX – can be deployed to determine optimal placement of charging stations based on publicly-available data, as well as provide users the capability to quickly locate the closest and best charge point for their needs at the time.

Oracle Database 21c introduces a new native JSON datatype that enables application developers and DBAs to store, manipulate, refresh, and search elements stored withing JSON documents with flexibility and speed. I’ll demonstrate how to best take advantage of this new native datatype and its functions to build more effective database applications that store JSON documents directly within an Oracle database to provide security, coherence, and clarity so that your teams can concentrate on speedy application development and satisfying your user community’s demands.
The popularity of JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) has quickly become a de facto method for retaining valuable business information for many IT organizations. For the modern Oracle DBA, finding the best methods to retain, maintain, and process JSON documents – especially when that information needs to be combined with non-JSON data – can be a confusing conundrum.
