Quick deploy Enterprise Manager on OCI Marketplace

Event: Connect 2022
Stream: Architecture, Cloud Database & Technology

This session walks through the deployment of Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5 on Oracle OCI marketplace with different pre crafted configurations. It supports Single and multi-node deployments as per the size and number of targets that are going to be managed. The Marketplace stack contains pre-configured Oracle Enterprise Manager with co-located Oracle database for single node configuration and OCI 2-node RAC DB system for Multi-node configuration as Oracle Management Repository (OMR). The time to complete this setup is approximately 20 minutes for Single node and approximately 3 hours for a Multi-Node deployment. By this approach, it reduces the pain points of hardware setup, pre-requisite planning and installation, DB/EM Parameters tuning The demo focuses on – EM Provisioning via OCI marketplace along with the Database discovery (OMR)

EM-OCI Bridge for Log Analytics and Operations Insights

Event: Connect 2022
Stream: Architecture, Cloud Database & Technology

This session explains how Enterprise Manager allows Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's (OCI) cloud services to easily utilize target-level data managed by Enterprise Manager using Data Export option Enterprise Manager lets you transfer data from Enterprise Manager targets and Oracle Management Repository (OMR) to OCI Object Storage, where it is easily accessed by one or more cloud-native services. Use the data uploaded from Enterprise manager to perform the resource analysis using OCI Operations Insights tool that provides 360-degree insight into database and host resource utilization and capacity. It also uses Machine Learning to forecast the feature resource requirement. Operations Insights consists of two integrated applications: • Capacity Planning • Oracle SQL Warehouse These applications allow database administrators, DevOps, and IT executives to make critical decisions about their databases and hosts using historical and long-term data. With Operations Insights you can: • Analyze resource usage of databases/hosts across the enterprise • Forecast future demand for resources based on historical trends • Compare SQL Performance across databases and identify common patterns • Identify SQL performance trends across enterprise-wide databases
