AI/ML To The Rescue: How IT Operations Got Out Of A Monitoring Mess by Craig Shallahamer Key business SLA objectives were not being met. IT Operations was stuck in the middle of declining service levels, a tight labor force, and IT needed to be better aligned with business goals. To be better aligned, the IT Operations capacity had to be increased by reducing costs of both IT and business operations. More specifically, IT Operations needed to better detect problem trends and unusual activity across all their Oracle systems. False alerts were a real problem wasting employee time and energy. A solid operations picture required Oracle’s Active Workload Repository data for near real-time analysis, in conjunction with machine learning and AI Join us for a key business goals-focused perspective into how a business problem was solved using a variety of Oracle products, machine learning and AI. | 9/11/2022 | 10:00am AEDT | 50 minutes
Oracle In-database Machine Learning with OML4SQL/OML4Py in Oracle Autonomous Databases by Kai Yu As next generation enterprise applications are more data driven and more intelligent, advanced analytics and machine Learning bring great business value. Oracle In-Database machine learning moves the algorithms to database where the data is stored. In this session, we will discuss how Oracle In-database machine learning is provided in Oracle Database including Oracle Autonomous Database with scalability, simplicity and high performance. We will discuss how to build, evaluate and deploys machine learning models natively with large enterprise data using Oracle Machine Learning for SQL(OML4SQL) and Oracle Machine Learning for Python (OML4Py). This session will take some use cases as examples to show the process of machine learning: analyze and prepare data set; build and evaluate and apply machine learning model with Oracle Autonomous Databases environment. Some Oracle 21c new features such as AutoML will also be discussed. | 9/11/2022 | 11:00am AEDT | 50 minutes
Securing Workloads in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure – “A Hackers Perspective” by Scott Fletcher Cloud adoption has grown rapidly and accelerated as a result of recent global events. Organisations are increasingly looking to the cloud to drive innovation, improve scalability, performance, and reduce overall operational costs. As a result over 98% of organisations are using some form of cloud infrastructure to run critical application workloads, store and process sensitive company and user data. Cloud environments differ significantly from on-premises data centers. Traditional security methodologies often don’t translate nicely into the cloud, and the combination of these challenges can often be seen as a barrier to fully realising the potential of cloud-first strategies. Understanding and solving these challenges is critical to preventing security incidents and overall long-term success. Sun Tzu aptly said “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles”. As a Cloud Security Engineer and Ethical Hacker I’ll share the learnings from my involvement with cloud migrations, and pragmatic advice on how organisations can protect themselves from adversaries. | 9/11/2022 | 12:00pm AEDT | 50 minutes
Defence against the Dark Arts – Spell’s for DBA’s to secure databases by Aishwarya Kala The spell has been cast, and the evil forces are lurking in the shadows, but are you ready for a fight? Hop on to join Dumbledore’s DB Army as we learn to brew our security potions, practice database safety duels & put on our kevlar. In this era of “cyber-espionage”, where network security steals the prime focus on every organization, database security is often overlooked. Like in any battle, let’s spend some time & understanding the battlefield and common database vulnerabilities. During this session, we will look at some elementary instruments, e.g. listeners, security patches, database roles, privileges, users, and audits- that a DBA can use to build a strong shield around the databases. Along with this, we will glance at various tools that can be leveraged to assess & detect threats. Let us also explore best practices that can help us conduct forensics in case of an incident. So, if you want to learn the various “low-hanging fruits” that can give you a quick win or delve into more complex solutions, this session is most certainly for you | 9/11/2022 | 1:00pm AEDT | 50 minutes
Unlock the mystery out of building profitability model by EPM cloud Profitability & Cost Management by Mohit Jain Every organization is challenged with improving product and customer profitability. To maximize profitability, a business must be able to accurately measure, allocate, and manage costs and revenue. Profitability and Cost Management is an analytic tool which help organizations to create allocation model to achieve this. It enables cost decomposition, consumption-based costing and scenario-playing to measure profitability. Session will include Live demo of application. By the end of this session attendees will learn: · Creation of Application · Dimensions · Model Views and Validating application · Data loading · Calculation of application · Driver based allocation · Working with Rules · Rule Analysis · Prebuilt analytics – Queries, Profit Curves and Analysis Views · System Reports Note to Review committee This session will create awareness about PCMCS and how this product will help organizations to improve product and customer profitability. This session will talk how it take the mystery out of building profitability models and put the business users back in control with help to take action. How entire transparent allocation processes will be owned by business, not IT. | 9/11/2022 | 2:00pm AEDT | 50 minutes
Automation Improves Database Security and Compliance Chetan Vithlani With Compliance Management, one can run automated, continuous security checks based on industry standards and best practices, such as the Center for Internet Security (CIS), Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Reinforce industry standards such as STIG and CIS with custom policies to protect against threats, providing secure databases and hosts for applications. | 9/11/2022 | 3:00pm AEDT | 50 minutes
Time Series Analysis – Forecasting IT Alerts & Growth by Suresh Gandhi Timeseries analysis is the backbone for prediction and forecasting analysis, specific to the time-based problem statements, by Analyzing the historical dataset of the Infrastructure or database alerts and its patterns, understanding and matching the current situation with patterns derived from the previous stage. Understanding the factor or factors influencing specific variable(s) in different periods. With the help of “Time Series” using different methodologies and frameworks, we can prepare numerous time-based analyses and results such as Forecasting, Segmentation, Classification, Descriptive analysis, and Intervention analysis. We can forecast some of the events happening in future. | 9/11/2022 | 4:00pm AEDT | 50 minutes
