Fast and efficient full backups at the cost or incremental
Stream: HOT: DBA
DBAs need to be in control of Oracle database backups to ensure both backup and recovery objectives of organisations are met successfully. The use of local storage to dump backups from RMAN is a common strategy used by many DBAs to gain this control and speed. However, such backups are generally limited to a few days due to limited dump space requirements. This session is about demonstrating how an integrated backup appliance along with RMAN can remove the need for dump space, increase the speed of backup and provide the ability to store many backups controlled by DBAs with automated long term retention extending to object storage locally or in the cloud. The session also covers methods and techniques available to backup very large databases (200+ TB) and NoSQL databases.
