The Australian Oracle User Group (AUSOUG) is a professional body operated by a nationally coordinated group of volunteers to support the users of Oracle products and technologies. In Asia Pacific AUSOUG represents and runs jointly branded events with the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) and the Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG) and has a partnership relationship with the UK Oracle User Group (UKOUG).

AUSOUG represents a collective of over 1000 + IT industry professionals focused on the technologies, applications, strategies and business of Oracle and its products, along with associated value added partners. Our members enjoy a comprehensive range of exclusive information, services and networking opportunities within an independent professional body which is part of the international network of Oracle user groups. In an industry where the practitioner is consistently inundated with (often biased) information, products and services, AUSOUG is widely recognised as a key objective provider of information to its members.

AUSOUG, which is an independent user group, has the following objectives:
  • Grow and nurture Oracle communities through the provision of knowledge, innovative services and independent representation
  • Present a unified voice for the Oracle professionals and user communities to partners, media and affiliated organisations
  • Provide responsive services, support and collaborative forums that enhance the effectiveness of members, partners and affiliate interest groups.

How AUSOUG Works

AUSOUG is a not-for-profit user group coordinated by elected volunteers from its membership and utilising outsourced services for certain aspects of its operation. AUSOUG is coordinated by a national committee, and organised into state-based branches catering to the specific requirements of the local professional community.

AUSOUG is part of an international user group network, and works closely with other groups throughout the world. Our region is one of three distinct international user group regions, including the Americas and Europe / Middle East / Africa. These 3 regions, together with the Applications and Tools-centric groups, form the International Oracle User Group community.

The APOUC is a forum where the global Oracle user community can address issues of strategic importance with Oracle executives. With involvement in the APOUC by AUSOUG management, as well as through direct channels of communication to Oracle Australia, AUSOUG Members are able to directly influence product development, support, quality, pricing, education and other key business and technical issues.
