The AUSOUG Oracle Virtualisation Reference Group invites you to participate in AUSOUG’s Oracle Virtualisation Training Series.  This series is a no cost service for AUSOUG and APOUG members.

If Oracle Virtualisation is what you want or need to learn then ensure you attend the free nine part training program from AUSOUG.

The first session will be presented as a live online broadcast on Thursday 11 February 2016 and Face-To-Face at Oracle’s offices in Brisbane.  It will be followed by five (5) online sessions and three (3) live sessions that will allow participants to create and manage production environments.  The live training at either of the East or West Coast conferences will attract a registration fee. The proposed schedule, including dates and times of these sessions follows.

The series comprises nine (9) training sessions that will introduce you to Oracle Virtualisation and progress through to the provisioning and management of production engineered highly available systems, capable of supporting “Database and Applications as a Service” environments.  The program over all includes 200 pages of training notes structured round hands on labs using Oracle Virtual Box or physical machines dedicated to this training.

Participants will need two computers to complete the course with 8Gb of memory in each at an absolute minimum.  Each session includes workshop activities, allowing participant to undertake specific management activities and to experience the interaction with the OVM manager and 12c Cloud Control, the core tools for administering OVM environments.

The sessions start with an overview of Oracle’s Virtualisation technologies, covering concepts and terminology. The subsequent sessions move through the core activities required to manage virtual server environments on a daily basis, to create and deploy new servers.  The program includes the deployment of Oracle Database templates and a complete 12c Cloud control environment used to manage the DBaaS services discussed in the program.

In the final sessions a RAC multimode database will be assembled to demonstrate the scalability of these services.
