Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c Monitoring Best Practices

Enterprise Manager monitoring plays a critical role in enabling IT to provide highly available services to its business. As enterprises optimize their monitoring processes and evolve to adopt Oracle Cloud platform services, Enterprise Manager 13.1 continues to meet these new requirements with significant enhancements in monitoring. These include enhancements to metric extensions, adaptive thresholds, user-defined target properties, corrective actions as well as new features such as incident manager dashboard, auto event grouping, export/import of rule sets, and brownouts for planned/unplanned outages. In addition to new features, we will also review best practices for implementing an effective and scalable monitoring solution.

Speaker Details

Mughees Minhas is responsible for all aspects of product management relating to database, systems and quality management solutions at Oracle Corporation. He has more than 20 years of experience working with Oracle products with special interests in the areas of application testing and quality, performance diagnostics and tuning, and SQL optimization. Mughees is a frequent speaker at various Oracle forums and has authored several papers on the internal workings and usage best practices of a wide variety of Oracle technologies. Mughees holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is currently Vice President of Product Management in Oracle’s Server Technologies division.
