Exadata: What’s New and What’s Coming

Oracle Exadata has transformed Oracle Database applications for in-memory analytics, online transaction processing, data warehousing, and consolidated workloads. With public cloud options, the latest state-of-the-art flash technology, petabytes of capacity, elastic configurations, and many new software enhancements, Oracle Exadata will continue to be the most standardized and highest-value database platform for Oracle Database. In this session learn about the latest in Oracle Exadata hardware such as Exadata SL6, Exadata X6-2, Exadata Cloud Machine and NVMe PCIe Flash and new software innovations such as In-Memory Columnar Formats in Storage, Extended Distance Clusters and Snapshots.

Speaker Details

Jason joined Oracle in October 2015 as Oracle is a Solution Director – Database Innovation within the Australia and New Zealand region.  This role is a newly created one aimed at providing thought leadership and customer based experience and insight to assist Oracle customers in their journey towards Database as a Service deployments – private, public cloud or hybrid – utilising Oracle Software, Hardware and Cloud Services.

Prior to joining Oracle Jason worked at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) where, as Executive Manager of ITE Engineering Compute Services, he had driven and delivered world class and world renowned Oracle database applications and consolidation platforms in an ‘As a Service’ model.  With over 20 years of IT and Database experience, Jason has a significant international profile both in the finance sector and within Oracle. He has served as a member of the International Database Customer Advisory Board hosted by Oracle’s Executive Vice President of Database Technologies, Andy Mendelsohn, for the final 5 years at CBA and maintained strong relationships with Oracle development and product teams both locally and overseas
