AUSOUG is pleased to invite Oracle professionals to submit abstracts of presentations and workshops for AUSOUG’s Connect 2016 Conference Series being held on East and West Coast of Australia in November 2016.

We are delighted to announce that a number of renowned international and Australian speakers have been secured to headline our Oracle User Group conference program in WA and Victoria.  We will provide all the details over next few weeks.

You will want to be on the same billing as these Oracle ACE’s, International visionary leaders and Oracle Beta Program participants.

The AUSOUG Connect 2016 Conferences have a focus on bringing together our Oracle community, and servicing their core technical, development and applications needs through presentations and training.  A balanced program is aimed at all levels of skill and experience within a forum of User led independent knowledge sharing.

We are seeking the most influential technology and applications speakers in Australia and internationally.  These speakers and industry leaders bring with them real world user experience.  They will deliver educational sessions that include hands on PARTICIPATION, SHARING, and INTERACTIVE ENGAGEMENT, ensuring all attendees receive the most from their experience. 

AUSOUG intends the Connect 2016 Conferences to focus on improving productivity levels within the Oracle environment.  We ask that speakers share new products, services and real work case studies with attendees.

Every presentation will be a learning experience.

Our aim is to include diverse contributions to shift attendees thinking, to expand their network, and to transform their practices at the Connect 2016 conferences in Perth and Melbourne.

The opportunity therefore exists for you to share your Oracle experience, with Oracle professionals at these conference events.  Your presentation will be made available to more than 4,000 people on the AUSOUG database from the AUSOUG Website.

End users, independent professionals, Oracle, Oracle partners, and suppliers of Oracle services are invited to submit papers that focus on the following core areas:

  • Big Data | Cloud | IOT
  • Database Administration | Development | Storage | Virtualisation | Linux | Solaris | Architecture and Infrastructure
  • Development: PL/SQL | APEX | ADF | Mobile
  • E-business suite: Fusion Middleware | Financials | OBIEE | Reporting
  • Middleware: Content | WL Server | BPM | BPEL | SOA

The Conference Structure

The conferences will offer attendees a series of concurrent sessions, that will be split into presentations from Oracle, Solution Integrators (SI’s) and Users. The two conferences may be structured differently to one another so as to reflect their audience needs better.

Our conference programs allow for concurrent streamed session times of 45 minutes (incl. Q & A) plus workshops. Some sessions will be broadcast live to AUSOUG members who were unable to attend on the day, increasing your reach even further.  This will be setup for you should that be the case.

Your abstracts can fall into the following categories:

  • Case study or useful tips
  • Educational sessions
  • Real life experience and best practice
  • Defining strategies and techniques
  • The latest and best technologies

The Abstract

A short abstract (100-200 words) is to be provided when submitting. Please use full sentences and follow the advice found in the Speaker Guidelines.

Submitted abstracts will be judged on the basis of significance, relevance, correctness, originality, clarity and what will be shared. Should your submission be accepted, this abstract will be published on the conference website and linked to your presentation in the program schedule.

The content of your presentation/paper must stay true to the original abstract submitted and accepted.

Submitting an Abstract

You should submit your abstract(s) through AUSOUG’s Online Abstract Submission System.  Presenters should take note of the key dates associated with paper submissions:
 
  • 12 August 2016 - Abstract Submissions Close
  • 26 August 2016 - Speaker's confirmed

However please note that once the program is complete the CFP will be closed.  This will ensure we have the widest range of papers available to all members. Full details of all key dates will be provided in the Speaker Guidelines. Be sure to provide as much and as concise details as possible to ensure our paper reviewers have the best opportunity to select your paper.

Submission Process

Presenters may submit abstracts for one or both conferences.  All presenters submitting abstract/s will receive a confirmation of receipt of the submission/s. Once accepted by the Paper Review Team, all accepted speakers will be advised and asked to confirm their willingness to present. Further details including timings and room allocations will follow.  Please note that submitting an abstract for both conferences does not necessarily mean you will get selected for both events.

Speaker Entitlements

All accepted speakers are required to accept the Speaker Agreement and to be registered at their selected conference/s after confirmation of acceptance. Speakers will receive a complimentary two day registration to the conference/s selected if their presentation is accepted. Final acceptance will be dependent on the conference registration of all presenters.

Presentations are limited to a maximum of two (2) speakers who must both participate in the presentation to receive their entitlements. 

The complimentary Speaker Registration includes:

  • Participation in all conference sessions of the selected conference
  • Entry to trade exhibition
  • Arrival, morning and afternoon tea
  • Lunch
  • Networking Drinks
  • Conference satchel
  • Name badge

Please note:  the dinner being held at the Melbourne Conference is an optional extra at speaker's expense.

Speaker Agreement

All speakers will be asked to accept a Speaker Agreement provided after confirmation.  It will include an agreement that the paper/s selected and presented at either or both conferences will not be presented at any competing event for 30 days prior or after each conference.

Similarly, no speakers' fee is paid to successful applicants. The Conference Organiser reserves the right to change speakers, events and/or session times, dates, prices and other details as deemed necessary.
