Oracle as a Service design overview on the IBM Softlayer Cloud

This presentation will provide an overview for creating an Oracle as Service on the IBM Cloud - Softlayer. It will dive into the Infrastructure of the service including network, storage, operating systems and security considerations when creating Oracle 12c database on the cloud. The presentation will also provide an overview of the capability available on the IBM Softlayer cloud in relation to Oracle as a Service.

Pre-requisites: Oracle database 12c experience

Presentation Objectives:  1. How to configure Oracle database on the cloud 2. Important aspects when place company's data on the cloud 3. Storage and network considerations

Speaker Details

Infrastructure Architect working in IBM. Have developed Cloud architecture designs on Softlayer, the IBM Cloud. The designs included Hybrid Cloud solutions using Windows and Linux operating systems. Recently developed an Oracle as a Service cloud solution for one of the major banks in Australia with regards to Oracle databases. Barbara has an extensive experience with Oracle Database earlier in her career and holds an Oracle database 10g OCM.
