The internet of things (IoT) is the internetworking of physical devices, vehicles, buildings and other items—embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity that enable these objects to collect and exchange data. It has been defined as "the infrastructure of the information society".
Patrick Gauci will demonstrate a Raspberry Pi to "sniff" the blue-tooth data coming from Scalextric-like cars, the events are streamed to IoT Cloud Service. From there, the messages are forwarded on to Database Cloud Service, BI Cloud Service, Process Cloud Service. The Demo showcases streaming, real-time dashboards, actionable events and post race analysis.
There is a short video that shows the demo in action at https://youtu.be/vqLmde0a2Ow
David Reid will present on Oracle Stream Analytics which is an on premise Tool that plugs into IoT event streams and looks for patterns. The IoT cloud service used in the demonstration uses a flavour of Oracle Stream Analytics in its implementation.
