Practical Tuning Tips for Developers

Have you ever tried to work out what a poorly performing SQL statement is doing, but you don't have access to Enterprise Manager so you can't look at the pretty DBA graphs and use the tuning advisors to improve the performance?

This presentation will look at utilities and commands that developers can use to identify tuning issues. The session will demonstrate the use of a number of tuning tools to identify common performance problems, and show how we can resolve the issues and verify the solutions.  Attendees will learn about common performance problems and how the utilities help in resolving them.

APEX 5 isn't just a sexy new IDE

After upgrading to APEX 5, you'll need to start doing a few things differently. This isn't a bad thing, these changes bring great benefits to the developer and you can apply the time you save elsewhere.

This session will cover the feature adjustments everyone was talking about at Kscope this year; what to look out for; and what you might need to do instead.
