Australian Oracle User Group eBulletin Issue 3, June
2008 |
Oracle Corporation has proved that
members of user groups make fewer calls to Metalink than non-members. One of the reasons
is that the members get to network
with other users and learn about real life implementations.
AUSOUG Conferences have been cited as one
of the most cost-effective ways to
gain the tools and knowledge you need to meet the changing
demands of information
technology. You'll pay a reasonable amount for intensive education, unlike any offered within the
industry, and you'll garner a
tangible, immediate return on your investment.
In addition to the direct savings on
education, conference attendees make professional contacts that they can consult long after the
conference ends. They have
direct access to Oracle managers. The conference offers an
opportunity to talk one-on-one with
industry vendors who provide the latest products and services. This means attendees
return to the office with real-time
solutions that can be implemented immediately - without wasting countless hours in independent
research.
So how are you going to be
involved?
The Conference Paper Review committee has
already received many submissions
from users and suppliers of Oracle related products and services. These are currently being reviewed
and everyone who submitted a paper
will be advised after 27 June if their paper(s) have been selected
to appear in the program.
We are still interested in receiving
abstracts from Oracle IT professionals, users and business to present relevant papers, training and
demonstrations. Presentations should
provide topical, engaging information relevant to the current Oracle influenced professional Business
and IT community and based around the
conference theme (if possible).
If you are interested in presenting at
one or both of the conferences please download the Abstract Submission Form from www.ausoug.org.au/2020/speakers.html complete
the form and return it to gm@ausoug.org.au by the due date
- 27 June 2008. Submitted papers will be judged on the basis of significance, relevance,
correctness, originality, and
clarity. Speaker Guidelines are also availble from that
page.
Topics we are particularly interested in
hearing from this year, but not limited to:
- Database
- Developer; Forms, JDeveloper, J2EE,
JSF, XML, Web Services, BPEL, SOA,
Hubs, .Net, and Fusion Middleware
- App's; all incl GL, AR, AP, HR,
Payroll, CRM,
- Higher Education
- Spatial
- Oracle eBusiness suite, Seibel and
Retek, HR Management
- Hyperion
- Tools & Security
Each individual paper will consist of a
45 minute presentation (inc Q & A) in one of the follow streams: Development; Applications;
Database administration; Business;
FMW; General Interest and Vendor. You will be asked to nominate the stream that best suits your
paper. A session day and time will be
nominated for you.
Speakers will receive a two day
registration to the conference(s) they have been accepted to present at.
Members can help promote the Conference
Series to ensure a greater attendance
by encouraging peers, customers and suppliers to submit papers and attend.
This year’s conference will provide you
with opportunities for you to increase your knowledge on
- Database Administration
- Oracle Developer Technologies
- Fusion Middleware
- E-Business suite best practice usage and
administrator
- Siebel and Hyperion solutions and benefits
and for management -
- keep up to date with the trends in your
Oracle investment
- be aware of the impact to your Oracle
technologies.
